Hard-hitting drums, razor-sharp guitars, raw vocals, and a bass that hits like a distorted 808. A head-on collision of two worlds — out of the East Bay.

Minor Sun blends hard-hitting drums, razor-sharp guitar work, emotionally raw vocals, and a bass tone that hits like a distorted 808 — punk energy welded to hip-hop instinct.
It started as a solo project when founder Brian Alvarado was in college, born out of beat-making that turned vocal-forward during the pandemic. The debut EP Songs That Go Bump in the Night arrived in February 2022.
Since then it's grown into a full band — drummer Austin Bernard came aboard in 2024 and guitarist Andrew Saucedo in 2025 — turning the studio project into a live force across the East Bay.
Loud, sweaty, and built for the pit. Minor Sun plays clubs and DIY rooms across the East Bay — recently on the bill at the Ivy Room in Albany.
